WHITBY RESTAURANT

I had no doubt….I knew this restaurant would be the first one in my blog!!

Since Whitby opened, it´s been my favourite place for lunch during the week, or to have something on Thursday nights… I just love it!!

THE PROJECT

First of all, I came into contact with Irene Benjumea and she told me:

“It´s been a funny Project with a multidisciplinary team working , Inés Primo de Rivera and I as architects in the full refurbishment of the business, Sole Noriega as graphic designer and Antonio Pedrosa contributing  with his large experience in decoration and accessories”

Irene Benjumea from IBU architect Studio has been with Inés Primo de Rivera the architects who have
developed the project (inesprimo.arquitectura@gmail.com)

In the middle of Chamberi neighbourhood we can find WHITBY restaurant, a new light space with industrial look

The restaurant has two floors and thanks to its huge windows fill the space of light

We can find both the concrete structure hardness and several materials as iron or natural wood for tables and shutters

These materials contrast with the fabrics and furniture. The lamps design emphasizes the restaurant and has been specially designed for this project.
Sole Noriega is also part of the team as Graphic designer, e-mail solenoriega@gmail.com
And regarding decoration and accessorizing, the manager has been Antonio Pedrosa

THE RESTAURANT

First of all…… where can you find it?

C/Almagro 22, Madrid-Tlf: 91 319 70 88

THE MENU

DECORATION

The iron and wood furniture was specially designed for the Project, the same as the armchairs

Tolix Chair, chairs with an industrial look made of metal, staking, and perfects for a public space

The stools and several lamps are from “EL 8” shop placed in 8,Mira del Rio Street , Telf: 913669407 and in EL TRANSFORMISTA

The lighting and iron wall lights were designed by the architects, and the work lamps are from  GUARCONSA, and IKEA

At night, thanks to the sliding Windows all the ground floor keeps opened…a luxury!!
Meeting point for the near office people, for having a drink…one of the most comfortable places you can find now in Madrid!!

This place is just… GREAT!!

In the last HOLA edition, we could see PIPPA MIDDLETON having something in her last visit to Madrid

I just want to say goodbye thanking as always, Beatriz Gómez Carrillo, who has been paying attention to me all these days and of course to Irene Benjumea
JUST A BIG THANK YOU!!
