Camino de Santiago (St.James' Way)

After some days off on Holidays, and even the content of this post is not that much related with my blog, I cannot skip telling you about how the adventure of the Camino de Santiago by bike was. As conclusion, you must do it! And if you are already planning it, I hope my experience helps you!
 7 JULY 2011

Stage: Rabanal del Camino- Villafranca del Bierzo  60km ..

I really think we did more kms ...

We rised the hill Cruz del Ferro, with the stone carried by each of us.
Weather: you can´t image the cold it was

Mishaps: a flat just a few kms after starting the route, some falls, and the chains coming out...

Hotel: Puerta del perdón

8 JULY 2011

 Weather: cold, rain and fog...
This day was really a nightmare!! O Cebreiro is a hill of 17,7km, with an incline of 700 m... We arrived to La Laguna and kept suffering...

After that hill, Alto del Poi was so much easier than we thought even if the rain was still pouring...

Mishaps: Just one flat.

Hotel Casa Rural Pazios.

 9 JULY 2011

Stage: Triacastela- Samos- Palas de Rei  85km!!

Weather: Poruing rain but we never lost the hope of the sun appearing between those clouds!

Another hard day. It was such a long stage, the end seemed to arrive never...

Mishaps: 2 falls, some flats... and a wheel totally bursted!

And the hotel was so difficult to find. The cows had eaten the sign!
Hotel Pazo Mariñao

10 JULY 2011

Stage: Palas de Rei- Melide- Arzua-  Santiago 66k

Weather:  SUN!!!!!!!

We wait to everyone of the group in Monte do Gozo to arrive to Santiago all together.

The arrival in Santiago... I have no words! Bagpipes, sun, that beautiful city...

The Hotel Reyes Católicos was just great!

I recommend you to visit the Cathedral roofs: +34 981552985

And finally we got the Compostelana... you cannot imagine the feeling you have when you get that paper after so much effots.

We went also to the Pilgrim Mass

We took a flight to go back to Madrid from Santiago

I CANNOT BELIEVE I COULD DO IT:

265 Km
BUEN CAMINO!!!!

For me it has been one of the best experiences of my life.
